"Fringe Blogger"

I have been dying to show you this view for a long time. It's the parking lot of my therapist :)
It overlooks the valley between I74 and Mt.Airy Forrest. Just keep heading west and you'll hit Indiana.
Honestly, this idea is blatant plagiarism .
I have really been into cutting, chopping and sewing the past week or so. When I saw DirtyHairHalo wearing a chopped up T, I had to give it a go. I may be considered too "old" for such a top, so that's when I decided to make one of my own ! Shannon can wear a trash bag and rock it, so there's no competition there ;) But she is so creative and puts together some looks I would never think of !  Cudo's Shannon. You Rock!
I wore my version over a plain black tank dress and kept the rest minimal as not to compete with the shirt. How'd I do ? Would you rock this T over 40 ? Show me some of your DIY's and I would love to post them!

I know this was a lot of images.
I was having so much fun :)
Dress: F21 - Shoes: Dots - Choker: - Claire's - Headscarf: Vintage fabric - Sunnies: Vintage - T:Thrifted and chopped by me :) - Belt: Kohl's

By the By :
On another note, do you ever get down when you lose a follower ? I know this is a tender subject, and I don't enjoy being wimpy, but when it happens to me, I always wonder what I did wrong. Or did I say something offensive ? I know I post too many photos, but I really can't make up my mind :) My Hubs says that I add too much commentary and photos. Since I am doing a blog-over, I would really appreciate any "constructive" advice. I also know that I don't fit a certain demographic. My Hubs calls me a "fringe blogger".  I believe that mixing things up and trying new things keeps me young and creative(ish). What would you like to see ? My leaf is a turning ;)
I really enjoy blogging and I am always trying to improve, so hit me (gently, please) !

Loving those shoes and your toenails are so pretty, do you do them yourself?
I do have a blog cull every so often. I usually stop following blogs with too many adverts and wish-lists and ones that are too negative and self-pitying that just seem to demand too much ego-boosting.
Blogs should be fun, friendly, inspirational and good natured, just like yours! xxx

I love, love, love those shoes! Lately I've been really liking that style.

As for blogging, I've lost a couple of followers recently and I suppose it's because my blog tends to be all over the place, but that's just me. I stop following blogs when they turn too "commercial". Like they keep featuring brand after brand and giveaways that don't have anything to do with me. I also like to know a little about what's going on with the person blogging. Just so I feel like I "know" them.

I personally like your blog because you're honest and you let us know what you're up to.

I do have a cull when blogs become just a series of ads and giveaways.
Chin up girly, I had a recent cull and you were ADDED on my "Can't help myself" list of favourite blogs!
I think we have to assume that there are a great many readers who actually prefer mainstream style (boring!!) and they would most likely remove a favourite who didn't dress head-to-toe in labels like a goddam herd of sheep.
You certainly do not fit into the category of boring - you're style is witty and you are clearly having the time of your life in your pix.
Women of your calibre are rare and precious xo

change nothing! i love how you don't fit into any simple cut & dried category.... you are so unique w/ fun pics & fun commentary!!!

DON"T TRY TO PLEASE EVERYONE... just do this to please yourself, and if others enjoy it then good... many of us enjoy what you do, i'm hesitant to take the plunge blog-wise myself but seeing how much fun you have w/ yours is inspirational!!!

Okay I have quite a few things to say (but what's really new?!)

1. I know how you feel about lost followers! You begin to doubt yourself and wonder what you could have possibly done to make someone not like your blog anymore. I've lost a follower here and there, but it's important to think it is THEIR loss not to see you grow and blossom as a blogger. Better people will come and fill those spots!

2. I personally love the new little changes you've been doing to the blog like the layout, header, color ect... I wouldn't change a thing about your blog and the way you run it though! You are fabulous and I think your blog is equally as fabulous.

3. I want to thank you from the BOTTOM of my heart for the honor of your first widget! You have no idea how big my smile was and how happy I went to sleep that night after reading what you said about me. I'm just so very flattered and thankful that you have found my blog and I got the honor to get to know you. You are one of the most amazing, fashionable, and kind hearted bloggers out there. You've made this litte shy seventeen year old girl feel like a million bucks! :)

P.S. KILLER SHOES! Love them!

I've been sewing and DIYing a lot lately too!!!

I love the fact that you are YOU.
That's what drew me to your blog in the first place.
You aren't some hipster 20 something year old woman.
Whose trying to impress the world.
And I love that!!

David Bowie said it best.
Time may change me.
But I can't change time.

So just let it be girl friend.
I wish that I could be as inspirational and beautiful as you when I get older.

You rock a lot of unique styles.
And I think its stellar that you do that.
It takes a lot of courage to put photo's of yourself on here.
And you kill it EVERY SINGLE TIME!!

So no worries about the lost followers.
You never wanted them anyway if there going to be judgemental and unfollow you!!

No that isn't my father.
That's a friend of me and my brothers.

Oh and don't forget to stay SASSY SISTER!!

Hi Reva, I have been jumping over from Vix's blog every once in a while and I'm not quite sure why I didn't sign up to follow sooner! When I saw this post I had to finally join up and comment!

Don't change anything! What I like about your blog is that you are eclectic in your style and true to yourself. You are an original and so is your blog. A direct reflection of who you are.

Loving your blog, Bonnie

Well, I am not sure if you are serious that this is the view from your therapist's lot, but if you are...that is hysterical and if not...you are the most clever girl in the world for thinking it up.

on the subject of losing followers, I recently commented about this topic on another blog, but I am so glad it is getting some play. I am a "fringe" blogger to so I do not pick up followers as fast as say, the totally retro bloggers or the all designer bloggers-plus I write totally to amuse myself- much like you taking photos. I know some people aren't as into it as others.

I think it is the nature of the beast for people to stop following blogs they no longer, well...follow. I have a lotof blogs that I no longer read but I would never stop following because I know how bad that feels- but I know everyone is not as caring about strangers feelings as I am.

I have only one blog that I have been trying to stop following because the blogger has been outwardly rude to me. I can't figure out how to do it though for some reason

I love your blog. I find you very inspiring on so many levels: not just fashion wise.

You've just gained a new follower. I'm here from Pull Your Socks Up. I like what you've done with this t-shirt. I have been playing with a t-shirt idea (a Rorshach blot) with a haltered back. Didn't turn out so well on the first try...

Wow, I love the new look... I really have to do some catching up here. :) I love your work, and you seem to love it too! YOu don't need me or anyone else to validate your awesomeness. :0)
