Cool, Wide and Low-Key...

Hi everyone :)
I'm not sure how this outfit came together...
It all started as about 3 different looks and melded into this, which usually my favorite outfits just kind of fall together without too much planning or thinking. I actually saw someone wearing shiny gold sandals the other day with rolled up boyfriend jeans and a blazer, so I kinda stole the concept, sans blazer... And jeans...
I've had these super-wide legged cotton/spandexy pants forever (and in lots of colors ;). They remind me of maxi skirts, but with more leg room... The knots were another "borrowed" idea from way back ;)
Wide legs and cotton always beat the heat !
A little peek-a-boo lace
The deets...
Have a wonderful weekend !

When I'm an Old(er) Woman, I Shall Wear Purple....

Hi all :)
This was an all-air conditioned , matchy-matchy garb ...
When I had this outfit in mind, it seemed cute, but I think I'm heading into "Grandma shouldn't be wearing such high heels, she might break a hip territory", LOL! ( No offense intended, I love Nana's)....
Or how about Peggy Bundy? (Married with Children)
But, in retrospect, big purple hat and shoes might have been better worn with a simple Tee and jeans...
And possibly not together.
At first, I belted it and popped on my boots,
but I just wasn't feeling it.
Oh well, Ya win some, Ya lose some ;) ....
At least I'm not sweating like a Yorkie !
And Yes, I am wearing a night-gown ;)

Floppies and Florals

Hi everybody!
I've been dying to wear these leggings and finally the weather permitted, well kinda ;).... I just can't resist rose patterns!
Then last year I went floppy hat crazy and feel the need to at least wear one per week, as to get my money's worth, so this week it's the black one. I still have pink, purple, red and a neutral straw one.  So you've been warned :)
Now for my weekend update:

Target.com has boots on sale for $12.24 (and less) plus free shipping over $50.00 ! Since fall is just around the corner, it's a win-win, BUT, the stock is limited and the ones I really wanted are on back-order, and since they are clx. I really don't expect to get them. My fingers are crossed ;) I do like my boots ;)

I was asked by the infamous 'Anonymous' this week-end
if I were really a woman!
I honestly had to laugh as my night-sweats and bra issues are a constant reminder of my "femaleness"...

Lastly, I am still working on
a How-to Turban vlog,
so don't give up on me...
I'm having technical difficulties :)
Here's to a fantastic week :)

Heat, Humidity, Snapshots and The "Girls"

Hi everyone!
I admit, I've been really lazy this week.
Most of my time has been spent indoors...
However, I had errands to run today and I popped on this skirt as a top in honor of the lovely Christina of  Second Skin Style. I'm really not sure if she is still around as the last post I saw was a May entry...
I used to work for Sears, and when these little skirts went on clearance, I bought each print they had. I've worn them as beach cover-ups, and tops. The drawstring is a perfect way to create a halter. Now for the down-side...
The Girls !
If  you are a C/D (and up) cup, the summery strapless/tiny strapped tops and dresses can be very uncomfortable...  As a woman over 45, my breasts aren't 'bra-less worthy', and a strapless bra can be the equivalent of wearing a hot, tight girdle around your breast!
So what's a girl to do? Well...

1. Wear a loose blouse  or shrug over the strapless tops or dresses (this also avoids the "farmer's tan" you can get on your arms)
(think of the top as added sunscreen.)
2. Wear a flesh-tone bra with the strapless tops just in case the shrug blows open.
4. You can suffer through a strapless, but I buy a size smaller as it avoids slippage ;)
5. Buy a halter style convertible bra.
5. Wear a tank underneath w/a bra.
6. If your breasts are "heavy" avoid the tape kind. In my experience, they don't hold...
( Does anyone else have any other suggestions? )
I'd be eternally grateful ;)
Hair Tip for summer:
To create height and thickness in your hair on these hot, humid days, sleep with 3 large rollers on top of your head and spray them with gel or hairspray before bed. The lift will endure :)

Did you know you are already dehydrated when you wake up?
Drink a glass of water to start your day the right way,
especially in the summer heat.
