Buying in the Kid's Department / A Lesson in Proportions / A DIY Idea

I ALWAYS POST MY OUTFITS A DAY OR TWO LATER THAN WHEN THEY WERE TAKEN. I'M NOT SURE IF THAT'S "CHEATING" IN THE BLOG-O-SPHERE, BUT THIS IS WHAT I WORE ON MY HUBBY'S BIRTHDAY (The day before Valentine's day).

We ate 2 famotidine's worth of Riblets and a giant New York style cheese cake!

TODAY WE ARE BURIED UNDER ANOTHER FOOT OF SNOW. I'M NOT COMPLAINING, BUT MY WARDROBE PICKINGS ARE GETTING SAD! I'M LOOKING FOREWARD TO BURNING A FEW THERMAL HOODIES AND THERMAL LEGWEAR!  LUCKILY LONG BOHO SKIRTS COVER ALOT!!!  And thanks to the creator of heavy cotton tights!

My hidden birthday Secret!
Over -the-knee sox!

(Note to self : Dark Green nail polish scares little kids!)

I normally wouldn't wear this shawl during Winter, but my favorite fashionista's have taught me to wear whatever I feel great in, and the lines of what's "appropriate" don't apply anymore!

A side braid is handy for hat days!
I had a chin-length bob back in March . Everyone said it made me look younger, but as a gal with long, thin hair from birth, i let it grow out. There's so many more choices and I can whip it into a bun without even looking. Luckily, my hair grows fast ! Maybe, I'll try a Shag this summer!

I bought this Boho style skirt in the little girl's dept. at Sears for under $4.00.
I plucked the shiny plastic disks off each flower, and cut the skirt in the process.
Me + Scissors = Bad.
( I ran with them later )

MY LESSON OF THE WEEK :
PROPORTIONS!
Since my legs are long and my Top is heavy, fuller skirts balance out my body, giving the appearance of a long, lean torso. Belting at the true waist makes me look out-of-balance.
Thanks Stacey and Quinton !
( from What not to Wear)

I also wore one of my favorite pair of earrings from Target.
The brand is called Atract. or @tract. They make the most cool and unusual pieces.
It's a bit costly for my bugety mind , so I try to catch them on clearance.

See the Meanie Greenies ?
I am gonna try a shade closer to turquoise or Seafoam.
Chanel has the perfect shade , but for $23 dollars, I can do alot of thrifting  ; )

Here's a cool DIY project idea to work on during the Blizzard time!
I saw this necklace at Newport News ( my newest fav. for reasonably priced , yet Stylish pieces - and they clx. quickly , and offer free shipping alot ! )
I'm gonna use a thin ribbon and put some big beads and scrunch some thick ribbons in between.
Stay tuned, as my DIY's can easily become DIYDammits!!!

What do you think ?
GREEN POLISH :
Too Severe and Scary ?
OR
Pretty Cool ?
MY OUTFIT:
*Skirt: Personal Identity form Sears girls dept.
* Shawl : Thalia ( i think-i even used my reading glasses!)
* Black T : Energie
* Belt ; Old Navy
* Earrings : @tract
* Boots : Banana Republic
* Over-Knee-Socks : Pink Cookie, Sears.
* Polish ; Sinful Colors in show me the way, Walgreen's.

Very chic Retro Reva! Those are my favorite colors and they look very nice on you! What a great idea of shopping in the little girls dept. As far as the green polish, I normally wouldn't, but it looks pretty cool with your outfit! I like a woman who takes risks!

thanks! I didn't care for the meanie greenies either, but as risks go, this was a teeny one! I do love the light sage version by chanel, but usually i always go back to a short french tip or a clear or berry color. I am very rough on my hands / nails anyway (a biter from way back) the clear or frnech tips keep my hands out of my mouth!!
