MY HOME-MADE SKIRT / HOW AND WHY

I DID IT- HOW AND WHY:

ABOUT 2 YARDS OF FABRIC.
STITCHED TOGETHER AT EACH END.

PINKING SHEARS.
CUT DOWN BOTH LENGTHS,( OR STITCH A HEM).
I USED SHEARS. QUICKER. EASIER. WILL FRAY A BIT.

ADD A BIG BELT!  DONE!
I MAY STITCH THE TOP GATHERS TOGETHER TO CREATE A WAIST LINE.
THEN IT WILL BE MORE STRUCTURED.
MORE WILL BE REVEALED!
(IT WANTS TO PULL AWAY FROM THE BELT.)

(My Owl pendant from my Mod Dress.)

I AM TRYING TO LEARN TO SEW, BUT IN A "LAZY"-NO-MACHINE WAY. I LOVE THIS ROMANTIC FLORAL FABRIC, AND WANTED TO CREATE SOMETHING A BIT UNUSUAL.
I WILL BE USING MY MACHINE AS SOON AS I GET UP THE GUTS! (AS LONG AS MY HUSBAND WILL THREAD IT FOR ME! (STUPID BOBBINS). STRAWBERRY KITTEN HAS GIVEN ME THE INSPIRATION TO START SEWING, AS SHE MAKES THE MOST AWESOME SKIRTS!
(Pearls: vintage, thrifted.)

Love the boots and tights! Thanks for the owl pendant close up. I have a very similar one myself! As for the questions about flashes...you are asking the wrong person. I shoot with only natural light and haven't tried any flash or studio lighting at all!
