For the Love of Cowgirls

Wear the hat, don't let it Wear you .......
I like seeing the fall trends leaning toward the Vintage Cowgirl, or the Urban Cowboy ? Anyhoo, I really like the pairing of Cowgirl hats and boots floating around as of late. Kinda makes my statement hat trendy. You all know how much I love my hats, but the Cowboy always makes me feel kinda rowdy. Kinda girl meets grunge metal, pop open a beer, grab a dress and jump in a T-bird feeling. Plus, for some reason, this hat flatters my head. Make sense? I am visualizing different ways to incorporate this hat into all kinds of outfits. How about an 80's power-jacket over a strapless jumper with a cowboy hat? Kidding ;) Or am I ???
Pink over-all shorts: thrifted. T: Old Navy. Boots, Belt and Hat: thrifted. Aviator's: Dollar store, Yee, Haw!
"Real" cowgirls break their hats in like a new pair of shoes. I actually don't do horses. They get their bluff in on me right away and usually throw me, or run me into a fence. They snicker and run away.
I always seem to need to touch it. Also, I just picked up some new followers today, Yipee! Or should I say Yee,Haw! Hi, guys, so nice to meet you!!! I love comments and as you will see, I am a mish-mosh of styles and trends, all shades of colors and dress to suit my mood of the day, but I love hats. All kinds. WW40 is my attempt to be the first featured blogger over 40 on Weardrobe, So you will get updates. A lot.

COOL CORAL DRESS

This may be my latest favorite go-to outfit. I was very afraid of the dreaded empire style waist. I looked preggers in most of them. I found that if I avoid elastic and high-belting, the fullness accentuates my hip area. Or lack of hips area ! It's funny how seeing photos are so much different than the mirror! This dress was a vacation dress for the beachy HHI. I added a full cream skirt underneath for x-tra length.

I have a lot of light colors and fabrics for this season's nude / pastel palette, thanks to my beachy love.
Adding a couple of light scarves make them more up-to-date and less swimsuit cover-up looking.

My hat is from Target, Shades by Cosmo Girl, thrifted scarves.
Rocket Dog flip-flops.

Earrings from Target, on clearance ( last year)

My favorite turquoise ring was bought at a flea market in Florida in the 80's. One of the best $10 bucks ever spent !

Accessories can really add a personal style punch to any outfit. It's like imprinting yourself onto a trend !

My weekend is going to be spent clearing out closets and trying to get some sun on my legs!
( Plus, a new coat of polish on my toe-nails.)

Have a Great, Inspired Weekend !

GRAIN FED COUNTRY GIRL / Denim and Florals

Ever have a day when everything seems to work out ? The outfit isn't anything special really , but You feel great in it , and you LIKE the photos you took , too ?

This was one of those special days for me . The wind blew my skirt up in just the right way , and I was feeling so happy that my pics caught the feeling.

I am finally taking the steps necessary to operate my "good" camera . Soon I hope to be able  to decide on less than 4 photos to post ! Remember, ADHD isn't cured in a day ! ( Really , that's my newest diagnosis ! )

MY OUTFIT :
Mossimo skirt, thrifted
Denim jacket, AK.
Scarf , Old Navy
Pendant, @bstract for Target
Boots , Banana Republic

I love this locket !  It was a Valentine to myself  ;)
I have broken my "no spending" rule a few times already !

These images were taken on my homeward bound trip. My parent's back yard is filled with good background areas. Lot's of shaded spots while enough light for popping off detailed shots. My Mom and I were getting ready to head out for thrifting fun. I am so glad that my Mom and I are great friends.

When I first arrived at my parent's house , I ate like a maniac , then slept for over 12 hours straight . After all, I was on Re-charge mode . My head had stopped spinning and the country life was beginning to flow through my veins again ! I was feeling like the grain fed country girl that I used to be ! Minus driving down the back roads in a T-bird , my Nikon in the back seat and a bottle of Miller Lite between my legs ! ( Yep ) - Fond  but sometimes Stupid memories ! I loved to drive to the Ohio river and sit and watch the sun set over the water . The sky was so big there !
