BLACK FRIDAY OUTFIT POST # 1 : THE BLACK DRESS

"BOYS DON'T MAKE PASSES AT GIRLS WHO WEAR GLASSES" ? ~ WHO MAKES THIS SH@T UP ?
( Probably a gal who was jealous of her near-sighted "hot" friend who kept stealing her boyfriends )
Tee, Hee ;)

I HAVE SOOO  MANY IDEAS ON WEARING BLACK ,
THAT THIS FRIDAY THINGY MAY GO ON WELL INTO THE SPRING ;)

THIS FIRST LOOK I CALL "THE SEXY OVERLY-TIRED AFTER WORK LOOK".
MINIMAL EFFORT, BUT MAXIMUM RESULTS ;)  WE ALL HAVE ONE OF THESE DRESSES HIDING IN THE BACK OF OUR CLOSETS. YOU KNOW, THE BELOW THE KNEE LAST MINUTE FUNERAL ( OR WEDDING ) DRESS THAT'S YOUR GO-TO QUICK RESCUE OUTFIT, THAT YOU COVER WITH A LONG BLACK COAT?
WELL, WASH YOUR FACE, TAKE A QUICK NAP, THEN GET OUT THOSE SPANX AND REMOVE THOSE ITCHY CONTACT LENSES ;) AND START THINKING SEXY!
 (or at least hungry).......
A LOW, MESSY BUN , A FUN HAT AND A POP OF LIPSTICK ARE ALL YOU NEED TO GET THAT TRIP TO RED LOBSTER
AFTER A LONG DAY  ;)
THROW ON A BRIGHT COWL SCARF (This one I made by doubling a regular, thrifted one, then stitching the ends together.) A FUN PURSE AND GREAT SHOES (or boots)
And Wa-La! Unexpected Date Night ;)
I HAVE ON A VINTAGE HAT AND DANGLY GOLD/RED RHINESTONE EARRINGS FOR THE FUN FACTOR. ADDING THE RED NEAR MY FACE BRIGHTENS MY TIRED EYES :)
The purse adds many colorful prints to break up the all-black dress. The shoes add the "trend" factor.
And to heck with the tights or hose. Go bare legged! Let those tired legs air out :)
AND, Don't mind the lumps and bumps this knit dress can show. Hubbies like the lumpies ;)
" WHY HONEY, YOU LOOK CHILLY. LET ME PUT MY BIG, WARM ARMS AROUND YOU"
( Or in my case, why in the hell didn't you wear a coat ?)
Tee, hee ;)
( Honestly, I'll probably wear a long , but thin, coat, or maybe a faux fur jacket. )
I DON'T LIKE HEAVY COATS......
( I was so nervous about this post ;) ~ The next few weeks are going to be items we all have and wear, but with my "twist" on them. Such as the black Turtle-neck, Jacket, Jeans and so on.
My outfit:
Dress: Limited, thrifted.
Hat: Vintage,thrifted
Scarf:thrifted, stitched ends together
Earrings: JCPenny, clx.
Shoes: Dots
Purse: World Mkt.
Glasses: Sears, prescription (but not bi-focals,yet, darn it!)

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND !
xXx

Reva--I love the new quote at the top of the page. It's so true.

I just recently realized that though I have plenty of black in my wardrobe, I do not have a LBD! Gasp. I look forward to this series...

and you're gonna think I'm copy-catting on the scarf later this upcoming week.

As always, you look so cool. I can't even say what part of the outfit I like best. Maybe the purse. Maybe the hat. Maybe the scarf...

Hey! You're doing the series, yay! Looking forward to this weekly segment. The scene stealer is that beautiful blood red infinity scarf. Looks great on you too. And yeah, shoes...suuuuper sexy.

Happy weekend to you too, gorgeous. Muahz!

Check out those curves, lady!!! This just proves that women who don't want to show off their figures shouldn't wear black. You look stupendous and love the granny bag. xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Great way of jazzing up a basic black dress!

perfect post! fab outfit, masterfully (mistressfully?) accessorized, easy-to-follow instructions......looking forward to more in this series! plus, it's a really practical idea.

so so very happy ~ your health news. transplants can keep a person alive, but at a very steep price.

& lord i hate MRIs! one time the assistant guy had to stay with me in the room so i could stand to stay in the machine, i was crying and everything. when he said 2-3 folks a day go thru that, i felt marginally less embarrassed...

finally i started 'practicing' by laying underneath the coffee table - it helped! have a great weekend, you've really earned it!! steph

I saw one of those cowl scarves in a shop the other day and I thought it was the most fabulous thing, but the price tag was unfortunately not so fabulous. I hadn't thought of just sewing the ends of a scarf that I already own (or one I can find in a charity shop) so thanks for the idea... I think I shall be doing that soon.
