And The Winner Is !.... / Thrifted Outfit

Mother Nature sure did give us a whirl this week! I traded in my sun-dresses for tights and boots, but since I plan on wearing them into the summer, it wans't a huge change. On Friday I got a sun-burn, and the next day we had the heat on and were bundled under down throws! This outfit was one of the cheapest ones yet! It's funny how we "brag" about how cheap an outfit was in Blogdonia instead of how expensive it was! The thrifted skirt was a dollar, the boots (thrifted) by Bongo, were 6, the Danskin top was 2, and the vest, 3.99 !
I blame Kathryn , the Thrifty School Marm for my necklace from Wal-mart for 3! She has been sporting some cute outfits, and I broke my no-spendy rule in the accessory dept. I really didn't break it much, just a couple necklaces, a dress and jumper. I had to get the turquoise one she wore last week !!! I love to be inspired. O.K. I guess I did break it a lot ! Check out her cool blog ! She is really inspiring !

I couldn't decide how to wear the vest, open, buttoned or not at all.
I wanted to show the wide waist band, but the entire look was better closed vest (I think).

I had on a hat at first, but removed it as well. When I'm having a bad hair day, I immediately grab a hat. I'm trying to get away from that habit, as I applied for a job at the Library. I hope I get it and will need to get used to living hat free ( and keeping it washed and my roots done! ) Thank heaven for the bun !!!

This funky necklace has a ribbon tie in the back, mixing metal with bows.

OH YEAH !!!
The winner of my Summer Bliss Give-away is..................
Drum roll....................
JordanMay Twiggs !!!

A big thanks to my followers and..........
A big thanks to everyone who entered. I loved hearing what you love about summer!
I will be having another next month, so stay tuned !!!
My hubs did the drawing out of tons of entries. I will find a better method next time for making it easier to do the actual drawing. I had to count and cut up A lot of entries! I counted and re-counted to make sure it was correct. ( I have perfection issues ;)

GRAIN FED COUNTRY GIRL / Denim and Florals

Ever have a day when everything seems to work out ? The outfit isn't anything special really , but You feel great in it , and you LIKE the photos you took , too ?

This was one of those special days for me . The wind blew my skirt up in just the right way , and I was feeling so happy that my pics caught the feeling.

I am finally taking the steps necessary to operate my "good" camera . Soon I hope to be able  to decide on less than 4 photos to post ! Remember, ADHD isn't cured in a day ! ( Really , that's my newest diagnosis ! )

MY OUTFIT :
Mossimo skirt, thrifted
Denim jacket, AK.
Scarf , Old Navy
Pendant, @bstract for Target
Boots , Banana Republic

I love this locket !  It was a Valentine to myself  ;)
I have broken my "no spending" rule a few times already !

These images were taken on my homeward bound trip. My parent's back yard is filled with good background areas. Lot's of shaded spots while enough light for popping off detailed shots. My Mom and I were getting ready to head out for thrifting fun. I am so glad that my Mom and I are great friends.

When I first arrived at my parent's house , I ate like a maniac , then slept for over 12 hours straight . After all, I was on Re-charge mode . My head had stopped spinning and the country life was beginning to flow through my veins again ! I was feeling like the grain fed country girl that I used to be ! Minus driving down the back roads in a T-bird , my Nikon in the back seat and a bottle of Miller Lite between my legs ! ( Yep ) - Fond  but sometimes Stupid memories ! I loved to drive to the Ohio river and sit and watch the sun set over the water . The sky was so big there !

LAYERED TIGHTS AND PINK RUFFLED SKIRT

ready for my close-up!

a blustery day gave me a coat-float shot!

freezing for my "art"!

THIS OUTFIT IS ANOTHER TIGHTS LAYERING LOOK. THIS TIME I WORE FOOTLESS DIAMOND PATTERNED TIGHTS OVER MY LIGHT PINK ONES, THE SKIRT I BOUGHT AT TARGET, AND AM STILL NOT SOLD ON IT. FIRST I WORE A SIMPLE RIBBED TURTLE-NECK, BUT IT SEEMED TOO SHORT, SO I ADDED A VEST FOR LENGTH AND THAT SEEMED TO WORK BETTER. FOOTLESS TIGHTS ARE MORE COMFORTABLE WITH BOOTS, AS MY FEET DON'T FEEL SO SMUSHED! THIS FAUX FUR SCARF GAVE ME A HEPBURN MOMENT!  WILL ADD A DRESSY BOOT IF INSIDE. I WORE A COCKTAIL RING OVER MY GLOVES- ANOTHER OLD HOLLYWOOD MOMENT!
cocktail ring, Dots. fur; Jacklyn Smith. Diamond footless tights: Sears.

ALL U HAVE 2 BE IS U! / NAVY HIPPY DRESS.

scarf optional!but necessary!

SOME ITEMS I CHOOSE TO KEEP ALWAYS. This dress is one. I found a store on Hilton Head Island called Loose Lucy's, and fell in love with the "DEAD HEAD" style there. This dress was a gift form that shop. It's not a vintage Chanel to pass down my family tree, but means that much to me. I "trended" it up with layers- another skirt, the sox/boots combo over leggings. Added a thrifted velvet purse, wool hat and scarf. I like the result-it's me- my style- no cookie cutter involved. When I went out, I put a tan trench over it and the sleeves were hanging out for some more flavor!
DRESS; bhag- SKIRT; fire-TIGHTS; worthington- BOOTS; banana republic.
HAT / PURSE; thrifted.
