I WANNA BE A STAR

Well, surprise! I actually got my post up by noon ! A record. Yesterday it was raining so hard, the thunder actually shook the house! Scary! I did have to get dressed and after paroozing the web for some street style inspiration, I came across a photo of SJP that was so unique and different. This chic looks like she gets up, grabs her clothes in the dark and they fall together perfectly unusually. Make sense? Her combo's are so different than what I see around my neighborhood. Kinda Boho Eclectic East Village Artsy. I LIKE!

This was the shot that really got me. I'd never think to put this combo together. I like her "out-of-the-box-itude". And, she's my age! I usually don't care for celebs perfectly styled outfits, nor their labels, but you can tell she doesn't care so much either. ( Except when she's promoting her stuff, but hey, a gal's gotta make a living ;) I did the paparazzi stance for my images. I hate to do indoor shots, but hey, rain ! This is my version of this outfit I found in Frugal Fashionista.

"Who are you wearing?!!!"
" No photos please."

" I just had a cup of tea and read my copy of New Yorker."

" Who Me?"

" Well, maybe just one shot."

" Crap... the curtain was messed up."

" My purse? Vintage of course!"

The Deets. These pumps by Enzo Angiolini (thrifted) are the most comfy shoes ever! I would have never worn these pumps with this skirt (til now).

"O.K. I just had a little work done, not much!"
Kidding.

" It's nice to be a star! "
Tee, Hee!

COOL CORAL DRESS

This may be my latest favorite go-to outfit. I was very afraid of the dreaded empire style waist. I looked preggers in most of them. I found that if I avoid elastic and high-belting, the fullness accentuates my hip area. Or lack of hips area ! It's funny how seeing photos are so much different than the mirror! This dress was a vacation dress for the beachy HHI. I added a full cream skirt underneath for x-tra length.

I have a lot of light colors and fabrics for this season's nude / pastel palette, thanks to my beachy love.
Adding a couple of light scarves make them more up-to-date and less swimsuit cover-up looking.

My hat is from Target, Shades by Cosmo Girl, thrifted scarves.
Rocket Dog flip-flops.

Earrings from Target, on clearance ( last year)

My favorite turquoise ring was bought at a flea market in Florida in the 80's. One of the best $10 bucks ever spent !

Accessories can really add a personal style punch to any outfit. It's like imprinting yourself onto a trend !

My weekend is going to be spent clearing out closets and trying to get some sun on my legs!
( Plus, a new coat of polish on my toe-nails.)

Have a Great, Inspired Weekend !
