Rocker Chic Kitty Mom

Hi, everybody :)
Just because I'm over 40, doesn't mean the "cool gene" has disappeared ;) Though my reading glasses aren't in the photo.  It hopefully just means that I've found more balance. One of my fears used to be that the "youngun's" would snicker behind my back when I walked by in a trendy look. Now I have more confidence (thanks to all the wonderful blog-buddies I have out there :) ~ And I don't worry so much about what other's think of me. That seems to be a gift that has come with age ;)
It's also so funny that this fall, compared to one year ago, I might have been stumped on how to mix trends with my personal style. I was always ( well, usually )  blending into my go-to Bohemian style .......
But this year, while shopping my closet, I see so many more possibilities!  I mix colors I otherwise wouldn't have considered. I'm not afraid of looking too "sexy" or out of place. ( that's saying a lot in a conservative city ;)

This outfit, though not colorful, is still fun and trendy.
Plus, budget-friendly :)  ~  I don't feel out-of-order in this sweater dress (thrifted) paired with my Miley/Max $3.oo leggings.  The all-black dress balances out the tie-dye. I feel all "Rocker Chic" in this .................
Plus, zippers on sleeves and funky heavy metal belt, giant earrings (to keep me in the mix) and the aviators give me a "tude" ;) ~  An " I'm a cool-ass" possible milf...............
That is if Kitty Mom's count ;)  Tee, Hee, Just kidding ;)
Hi, Mom :)
Belt: L.E.I. , kohl's clx, old. (under 5 bucks)
Boots: thrifted, Goodwill :)
Earrings: Gift from my Hubs at Cincy Spring Fling ( thanks, honey ;)

Nice look! It's a sophisticated rocker chic look. Have you seen Black Milk leggings or ever visited the blog of Pull Your Socks Up? You might be interested if you haven't.

I love the earrings.

Such a contrast to yesterday's earth mama! Now you are rocker momma. What is it about black and white tie-dye? I am not normally a fan of tie-dye, but this is the 3rd b/w tie-dye that I dig! GREAT look on you, you look fun and not like you're trying to deny your age; you look like you really ENJOY your age. LOVE the fact you don't dress in high end labels, but never look budget. Rock on, Reva.

I'm also over 40, and you have been a big inspiration to me. Not that I have your flair or creativity. I'm very tame, but less timid than I used to be because you've shown me how cool over 40 can be. I don't have to forget about having fun with clothes just because I'm not a kid. Thank you for proving that. As always, you rock.

I think dressing gets easier the older you get, you know your body and what suits it and you don't give a you-know-what about what anyone thinks, well I don't!
You rock! Love the leggings. xxx

Those leggings are intense. I don't think I could pull them off, but they look great the way you have styled them. It's nice to know that we were both on the same page today too.
