Make Your Own Graphic Tee's

Today was craft Saturday. This one is so easy, and tons of fun :)  Making graphic Tees . There are so many fun ways to make them, from using permanent sharpies and drawing images or your favorite quotes on them, to printing them using your printer and Window's paint. I prefer the latter ~ goof-up free !

I find an image I really like. If I want, I can change the colors, crop, even add text . Then with Avery fabric transfers ( sold at any store, even the grocery)     ..........  

 I pop a sheet in, hit print,  and Wa-La. A custom Tee.

Having a knowledgeable helper is always a plus ;)

This one I placed on a cropped Tee. You can do fringe, do a sweatshirt, long-sleeve Tee, whatever your heart desires :)

( Make sure there is no copy-right infringements on the images you choose ;)

I Google images that I'm interested in, then download them.........

I make my color and size adjustments, and sometimes add words or quotes.

IMPORTANT !  Don't forget to flip your images !!!  Either in your printer options (mirror image) or the app. you are using :)  I wasted many sheets because I WAS flipping them, but they kept coming out un-flipped :(  ~  Though if you don't have text, it really doesn't matter  ~  

Then, I figured out I was flipping them twice, once in paint, and my printer was also set to mirror them, too.

So, now I have images of Bob Dylan with his name spelled backwards.............. Duh :)

And, I warn you, the transfer sheets aren't thrift-store cheap !

TIP : Make your images about 4 x 6, or they will be huge........

AND,  I misspelled a word !!!  PLUS, negative much ? ;)

I should make a tee that says " Live and Learn " or maybe " The Person Who Doesn't Make Mistakes is Unlikely to Make Anything " ;)

Have I mentioned how much I love friggin' Fall ? The perfect fall weather pattern has hit the Mid-west for temps. in the high 60's, a hazy, sunny sky, and leaves dancing around the streets. Another weather report :)  ~  Anyhoo, I mixed this too small blouse with a cream skirt, but added black instead of the usual brown. I feel all sleek and "growed" up. The clogs were for walking, and toe-to-earth action, otherwise chunkyish heels would have been on me. I'm not super-crazy about the faux loafer/clogs, but the studs won me over ;)

This skirt was yet another one of those " I don't know When or Where I'll wear it " thrifties.
I just knew I would get much wear out of it. It's a light-weight wool ~ Great for all seasons ......

It's beginning to look all spooky as a storm cloud rolled by ........ Boo !

My weekend will be spent making graphics for Tees, one of my passions ~ Plus, I am on a mission to improve the quality of my little old blog. She's soon to be a one year old baby, and it's time for changes. I have been getting some great feed-back and am taking some cues from other Blogger's who seem to have the stuff I'd like to see here in the future. I have learned so much in the past year, and hope to continue growing and learning ~ Making new friends and honoring the wonderful ones I have already............

Getting Carded Backwards / Plus No More Music !

OK, so it was cool to still get carded in my late 20's and early 30's. It was flattering, though I never seemed to get carded when I was underage ?  ~  But after a while I started noticing that it never happened anymore. OK.  Then comes the day when a  little boy at the grocery called me ma'am. Well, he was probably in his 20's,  but you get the overall feeling of the moment ;)  ~  Meanwhile, my hubs shaves his face and still gets carded.........

THEN, it happens.........

I even had on a peter-pan collar, for God's sake ;)

I usually don't do the high-waist belt look, but gave it a try. Usually I appear preggers or my boobs seem gigantic. I did feel a bit "little-girlsy" in this dress, which made me need to twirl, but the heaviness of the jacket gave it somewhat of a balance, plus I was only running errands anyway :)

Apparently the guy at Goodwill didn't see the little girl in me ;) ~ He wasn't looking hard enough !

Spirit Day Flair

Did you guys rock your purple today ? As you probably guessed the purple outfit I wore in my last post, I wore yesterday, so I could get the word out and get everyone ready for today. Thanks for all your comments and support. The web was crawling with Spirit Day events and Facebook was swarming with purple-clad images all over :)  I posted an image on Flickr, and right beside me was Kathy Griffin !  So, being the fan I am, I commented on her photo and invited her to visit Cincy and also pop a comment on my blog ;)

I suppose we all have a story about being bullied. During my rural 70's formative years at a public automaton producing school, at least back in the day when teachers weren't as cool nor aware as they are today , I was victimized as well,  but I was never bullied for my sexual orientation or religion. I was bullied for Who I was, however. I was a Cheerleader and there was a girl who hated me for being me. She would slam me into my locker or knock me down any chance she got. My complaints were met with apathy. The following year, she moved on to someone else. I was so afraid to go to school for fear of getting hit or hurt.  I was an easy target,  but hopefully through the "It Will Get Better" campaign, many kids will know there are people who care. They can stand up and be proud of who they are and get support :)  Hopping off my soap-box now ......
