BRIGHT COLORFUL DAY

Bright colors are everywhere this fall/winter from accessories to

tights and everything in between! I found these mustard shoes

the other day for less than $5.00, so decided to add some

primary colors with them. This day was sunny and a good day

to pop out in all jersey cotton. Layered with black, I even layered

my tights with socks. I felt a little bright as I usually only wear

this much color as accents to my basics. This time I added

basics to the colors! *SHOES; BASIC EDITIONS- *TOP DRESS:TARGET-*BOTTOM DRESS: ROUTE 66.

MY NEW THRIFTED FAVORITE/ AVON DRESS AND MOSSIMO CARDI

I ADDED A RED PURSE : from VILLAGER, AND A RED WATCH FOR PUNCH.

I COULDN'T STOP SNAPPING!
I REALLY LIKE WEARING CREAM SHOES WITH DARK LEGGINGS.

IT WAS A VERY SUNNY DAY SO MY WHITE COSMO SHADES PAIRED WELL. THEY KEEP
DOWN GLARE AND HAVE SUNBLOCK VALUE.
WHICH HELPS KEEP AWAY THE UNDER-EYE
WRINKLES!
AS A TEEN, I SUNBATHED WITH BABY OIL
AND IODINE! A DECISION I REGRET AS MY
SKIN IS VERY DAMAGED BECAUSE OF IT.
AN OUNCE OF PREVENTION IS WORTH A POUND OF CURE!

MUSTARD SEEDS

A special thanks to my new friends in the world of fashion bloggers for support and helping me out with my blog! This post goes out to someone who needs support in a different way. Thank you for reminding me how important faith and hope are in this sometimes crazy world. Remember, a mustard seed can move mountains!
We are all one big family!  PEACE AND JOY SENT YOUR WAY! :)  *REVA*

I NEED TO PEE !

Is it the outfit or the photos that attracts others to a blog, or a post on a community site? I enjoy great photos as much as anyone, but find myself (and others) trying so hard to get a "goldfish" (shiny and attractive) shot that sometimes the creativity of the outfit seems to get lost. I can't tell u how many shots I've taken just to get one where I look good. I really appreciate the ladies who take great photos and are creative with their outfits-isn't that what we all long for? but, my resolution is to not go for the commercial appeal of a look, but the creativity of the look. I so appreciate the gal who may not have the best camera, but has consistently fab. looks. Don't get  me wrong, I love both, as i am really getting into photography, and i looove a great crisp photo and a fab. look! My hats off to the blurry, dark, underexposed fashionistas out there!   *this photo left; looks like i need to pee! * photo right; better shot of my thrifted purse. That was the goal of these photos, to show off my 50 cent find, but tried to look "sexy" when i posted this on weardrobe. What was I thinking?

MY PARTY FROCK / ANKLES IN CHAINS

ANKLES IN CHAINS!

CASUAL
SCARF
LOOK.
BLING!

LACE PATTERN.

PARTY!

This is my go-to-dress up look for parties. I entered this one in the Weardrobe best holiday frock contest. It's a crochet type lace frock. I've worn it to many parties and it always makes me feel good. Basic black is what i always wear when in doubt, whether a party or anywhere. It's confidence in a color! I thrifted this  dress a few years ago, and put a spaghetti strap slip underneath. I wear my long black coat with it and can pair it with tights or pants. This year I've paired a scarf and my take on the Ankle chain look. These are ankle bracelets i bought on vacation!  I add updated shoes with each wear as the frock seems timeless. I added a vest and tied the scarf for a more casual look, but love the dress by itself better. I added a cocktail ring and blingy bracelet with big rhinestone clip earrings. When I go to a party, I like to wear my hair up so i don't worry about it getting limp (my hair is very thin). A pop of Berry lipstick and I'm ready to go! Wish me luck and fun! (I couldn't find my slip in the photo- but it adds much needed coverage with tights! With pants, I skip the slip! Hey, that's a good name for a blog! Skip the Slip!   *REVA*

POW OF COLORS!/ LONG FLOWING RED PANTS!

I am going shopping today. This is my bohemian outfit! No Mata Hari, but this scarf is my tribute to her amazing style. Maybe that's why I like the flow of pallazo pants and long skirts? Also scarfs and pashminas!(mis-spelled?). It is a sunny day and bold colors seemed to say POW, WORLD! I'm never ready for the holidays in time, so wish me luck!

I cannot stop looking at these beautiful photos of Mata Hari! Her political ties aside, as I'm not familiar enough with them-- Her allure, her confidence, her outfits!!!!

THRIFTED SUMMER SKIRT / winterized?

This isn't the most colorful outfit, but I fell in love with this skirt.  I've had it for a while, and am not sure if it's "winterizeable" or not. A basic white T seems too drab, but maybe adding a denim jacket? I'd like to play off the pink or blue flowers. The skirt is from the 70's by the label- there's usually a union label on them- but no specific brand. Also the sizing can help. This skirt was sized a 16, and I wear a 8 Quality- 10 cheapie. In those days sizes were smaller than today. Even shoe sizes. That's why size means nothing to me- it's just a number!  *SKIRT: thrifted, *Blouse: thrifted. *SWeater: Personal Identity, *SHOES: Anne Kleine, thrifted

GREY SWEATER-DRESS LAYERING

When layering I always feel bulky, but this sweater-dress is perfect. The sleeves are short, thus I can slip on a coat if needed. A thin, ribbed turtle-neck lessens the bulk, and the cozy scarf can come or go! I added "peggings"(pants like leggings) for added warmth, tucked into my fav. boots. Adding a belt can be tricky (can make me look MORE bulky) but a larger belt gives more symmetry. *TIP: REMEMBER WHAT YOUR MOM ALWAYS TOLD U- DON'T SLOUCH!- this make me look more bulky. Especially if u have larger breast-D's, etc. How'd I do? You can tell which shots I'm slouching in! Also, how'd that rooster get in the last photo? that scamp! I'm enjoying our 60's aluminum tree and light orb. Thanks karen & dave!     *Sweater: sears, *Peggings; K-mart basics, *Belt; old, *Boots; Banana Republic, *Scarf; thrifted, *Bangle, self-made, *Good-hair-day: sheer luck!
