Green Grown-Up

Simple and "age appropriate" pretty much says it all ! I feel out of my element ;)
I have gotten behind in my posts and actually wore this the other day to a grown-up event.
I nabbed 3 of these Limited cotton/spandex dresses on half-price day a while ago.
The twisted neckline is kinda sexy. A taupe spandex tank held the girls in place.
It's a very quick and simple look that took two minutes to put together.
The long beads and gold sandals are both thrifted. The scarf on the hat is vintage. The cream one: Payless.
Even Bitty got in on the action. Cheeser.

Selling Out

Why do you blog ? Is it your personal diary of outfits you come up with, or are inspired to create, Thanks to other blogger's neat ideas ? Do you really care who follows you, or is the "journey" it's own reward ?
For me, it started as an outlet to hopefully share my creativity with others. A creative outlet. Pretty simple, really. And it keeps me thinking in creative ways. I see clothes as an expression of who I am. Somedays, how I feel. This outfit would be considered "age appropriate". I must admit, I feel sexy in a slim skirt and sky-high heels. However, I hate ageism ! If someone saw me on the street, they may not know that I love grunge, and am a bohemian hippie chick. So, this outfit could be considered a "costume" for the perception that I needed for the day. I need a job!!! And, I broke a tooth on a cherry pit last night, and desperately need a dentist appointment A.S.A.P!!! So, I am wearing my " I can afford this crazy bill you are about to hit me with!" look. Am I selling out? Absolutely!
Scarf: Vintage - Skirt: thrifted - Shoes: 9 West,thrifted - Necklace: Vintage.
Workin' It !
Middle ring: Vintage Avon.
Gratuitous Booty Shot.
70's Cameo bracelet.
Art.
Oh Yeah, and I had to renew my driver's license! This can be very disturbing, as Ohio keeps the photo on file,
thus you can't say you "lost" them to get another photo!

Remind me to NEVER wear medium brown again! I look like I'm on a transplant list! And possibly drunk.
This year's was much better. Black never fails me ;)

WW40 UPDATE :
NADA.

THRIFTED CLOTH PURSE

This purse was thrifted on a spree with my Mom for 50 cents. Mom calls it "junking". I call it Ka-ching! This scarf I call MY LITTLE VIXEN as I pd. 10$ for it at half price. It may be evil? When I wear simple pieces, I try to add a pop of texture or color. This purse is corduoroy , velvet and some kind of upholstry material quilted all together. I'm usually the one who adds an accessory before going out, instead of removing one. Taking photos of myself has helped me to  realize how I really look sometimes. It seems the looks I think are great, are usually not as flattering as I thought. Simple seems to suit me better. *I'm also learning that less is more as I age, including make-up.

BREAKING THE GLASS LENS!

While lounging about, watching ANTM  reruns, Tyra "deleted" a contestant for looking  "too mature". She said that  fashion is obsessed with youth.  I can't tell u how many times i edit my photos, take 100's of shots to get the BEST one. I loose my desire to stage my fashion, and worry how I will look in the photo. I'M BUYING what i am trying to de-bunk!!!!!!!!!!  FASHION IS NOT FOR THE YOUNG. IT IS FOR ALL WOMEN WHO LOVE THE ARTISTRY OF FASHION. THE BEAUTY OF A PRINT IN A SKIRT, THE CREATIVITY OF PAIRING DIFFERENT TEXTURES AND COLORS. BEAUTY IS NOT ONLY FOUND IN THE BLOOMS OF SPRING, BUT IN THE DYNAMIC COLORS OF AUTUMN.  Trying to look our best is natural, i believe, but beauty isn't only "skin" deep!       *reva*
