I Got the Blues (but in a good way!)

Hi everybody!
Another week is upon us and today is supposed to be the purr-fect day!
So, we will be hitting the trails asap (After Some Awakened Preparation)...

Yesterday, I felt very girly and realized this little peter pan collared dress has been hanging on my rack all summer. The last time I wore it, I paired it with a military jacket and browns. Lately, I've had a thing for heavy cloth belts and believe this one is an actual army one or an urban outfitter (who ever really knows anyway!)
My other obsession are cross-body leather bags. I luckily found a couple for a
dollar each the other day. Thank you, oh thrifty gods...

Pre-loved and Cheap are my kind of 'trends'....
Which, by the by, I have developed my new way to thrift, thanks to the conversations I was involved in last week. I now carry a LIST, and search for the items I really want/need, and not start grabbing stuff just because it's cheap!
Eureka! What a better and less hoardy concept!
Dress: Dot's
Leggings: Target
Belt:thrifted / Scarf: thrifted / Hat:thrifted
Bag: St. Vincent De Paul thrift shop
Shoes: Vintage Bass (mine from the way back machine)
Bangles: Dot's / Beads:JCPenny (old)

We're off to the woods soon,
So have a great week!

Colorful Dresses and Moons

HI EVERYBODY !!!
TGIF AND BETTER YET, IT'S MY BIRTHDAY WEEKEND. ACTUALLY, IT'S BEEN A B-DAY WEEK :) MY FANTABULOUS HUBBY HAS BEEN SPENDING THE WEEK WITH ME DOING STUFF I REALLY ENJOY, AS IN SHOPPING AND EVEN BEARING THRIFT STORES. HE'S A REAL TROOPER.
THE ICING ON THE PROVERBIAL CAKE WAS THAT I GOT HIT ON NOT ONCE, BUT TWICE IN THE SAME DAY ! NOW AS A 40+, THAT CAN BECOME A RARE EVENT, AND THE FIRST 'HITTER-ONNER' WAS YOUNG ENOUGH TO BE MY SON (GRANDSON?)....
IT WAS ESPECIALLY FUNNY WHEN HE ASKED IF I HAD A BOYFRIEND, AND I SAID "NO, BUT MY HUSBAND IS IN THE FITTING ROOM TRYING ON JEANS" ;)
AH, IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS AND MY HUBS CONGRATULATED ME.
(A TROOPER ALL THE WAY)
TONIGHT WE ARE GOING TO A CHARITY DRAG SHOW TO RAISE MONEY FOR AFSP (AMERICAN FOUNDATION FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION), AT THE YADDA CLUB IN COVINGTON, KY, SO I GOTTA BOLT, AND HAVE MY SINGLES READY :)
( I HOPE TO SNAP SOME PHOTOS FOR YA! )
TRA, LA,LA, I'M SO EXCITED!
AND A BIG THANKS TO YOU ALL FOR  SUPPORTING ME.
WITHOUT YOU, I'D HAVE A HUGE VOID TO FILL.

MAILBAG QUESTION OF THE WEEK:
(THIS IS NEW)
DO I TAKE MY OWN PHOTOGRAPHS?
YES, EITHER WITH A TRI-POD, TRI-POD ON TABLES OR A MANGLED WRIST :)
THANKS FOR ASKING !

(I TOOK THESE LAST NIGHT AND COULDN'T WAIT TO SHARE THEM WITH YOU :)
MOON FROM BACK YARD

SOMETIMES THE MOON LOOKED LIKE A SMALL SUN

THE CLOUDS WERE MOVING ACROSS THE MOON VERY QUICKLY.
THEN THIS HAPPENED AND I CAME INSIDE ........
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND ;)

Forced Meditation and Cowboy Boots !

I'm baaaaack ! A trip of Car-induced Forced Meditation, Yard Sales and Shoes.
My Pop and I had a yard sale, minus photos, no time!, and a summer of slathering on sunscreen was shot in one afternoon. Major sunburn followed by "freckles" galore. But, down on the upside, I made over 200 bucks and scored these Dan Post Cowboy Boots for ONE Dollar :) Which may be the score of the year ;) I may even have them re-soled as they were worn a lot. I can't wait to wear the other shoes I scored.
I was tri-podless on my trip, and I must say, they rock!
Ramblings : Chris Cornell and Lucinda Williams kept me company on my trip. These two artists always help me get centered. When I got home, I didn't want to run to the computer and see what I had missed. I needed "real life" stuff. It's been almost 1 year since I started this blog, (Late October) and I am feeling a change coming . Not to say, I wish to stop, as I have learned tons, not only about the computer, but about myself. Tons. The journey has been an enlightening experience into human nature as well as into the nature of me, and the stuff I want to work out. Maybe it's finally time to try something new. I used to love to help others and now that my hubs has started an internship with a suicide prevention hotline, (he and I both lost loved ones to suicide), I need to begin the path I was meant to follow. We'll see :)

 It's good to be back.
Home is where your stuff is ;)
Of An Artist's Heart

No words for the deep mourning felt
When you must travel with an artist's heart ~
She chokes on the tears of
Smiles from the past ~
While looking forward to find
What is lost to her forever.

She looks deep inside the eyes
Of the kindred soul she once knew ~
Only to see the glossed sadness
Of the one who has stopped seeking ~
And has succumbed to truth and knowledge
Handed back to the painter of time.

The painting will never be the same again.
Framed ~ Dust soaked ~
Hanging in a long
Soon to be forgotten hallway
Of an Artist's heart.

I hate to do that, it seems pretentious, but I really value my writing :)

Flower Child

Extreme Close-Up !!!  Look very closely..... You can see my brain.......
" Dressed in purple velvets with a flower in her hair".............
Well, actually "a yellow cotton with a hat upon her hair." I went full-on flower child today ! Kinda cheesy, but I was feeling all late summery and needed to pile on as much summer as I could before the chill hits the air :) My jeans started all this. I stitched a floral patch from some old upholstery material I had made pillows from onto some old vintage Levi's. Then thrifted this top (an F21) at Goodwill. I swear there is someone in my hood who lives in F21, Gap and Limited all the time. I almost always find these brands at my store. I like the way the patch ripped and looks really old now ;) And I found these floral Sam and Libby silk sandals a while ago. Not sure how old. My guess : Old. I don't see them making it tear-free for long. I'll fall down.
Then I had to wear giant baby-head sized earrings with flowers on them .
I also chopped my bangs but got em a bit long. I am always afraid of the over-chop. It looks good on younger gals, but I like all the coverage I can get. Such as GIANT sunnies ;)
And check out this ring I found at Dot's for 5 bucks. A floral motif of course.
Yep, I felt kinda goofy and I liked it ;)
A bit thanks to everyone for all the cool and supportive comments :)
You guys Rock !!!
Love, Reva ;)
