"Told Ya So Tuesday" / High-Low Skirt

The trend: High/Low Skirt

The store: Goodwill

The price: $3.99 with 1/2 off = $2.00

This trend would seem so very easy. It's not as easy as it looks....

I ruined 3 skirts before I got this one right (thanks to U-tube!).

The key was to draw a half-moon on the front,

rather than guessing ;).

Draw a really wide half moon on the front panel only.

Stop at the side hem.

Then, gradually cut an angle to make the front

and back meet up. That's it!

Hem if you want.

I didn't hem it...

I kinda like the raggedy look.

Lazy girls are just like that ;)

I was a bit apprehensive about this look as I have so many ideas to do for the new Tuesday posts, but this look is popping up all over the place. I may do another later this summer, but this is what I came up with today.

I was going to copy this look to the T, (which I may later on), as I had a Jungle-worthy jacket, white shirt and sarong (as a skirt). However, I wanted to show the different ways to do this trend. It is a mix of safari gear or tribal looks and regular everyday basics. I did a similar take a few years back...

Aren't these the most terrible shots ever!

And that hat!

(This is a great lesson in looking forward, not backwards)

"I Told Ya So Tuesday" is the post where I prove that with a little perserverance and ingenuity, any trend can be thrifted.

Welcome to the new segment I call 'Told-Ya-So' Tuesday. I am taking Tuesday (it's a T thang...) and showing you how easy it is to find any trend in a thrift store. These cigarette pants are from Talbot's. I'm not sure when they were made, but many higher end adult women's clothing lines all carry patterned pants of some sort. Give the mall shops the slip and find yours first hand at a second hand price! Allow a larger size, however, as these are more fitted and have a bit higher rise...
