Goodbye.......

On Friday afternoon, we had to say goodbye to our precious Bitty Bitty. She was almost 18 years old, and had been having health problems for a while. About three day before, she stopped eating and was getting weaker and weaker. On Thursday, she gently looked at me and cried a soft mew that told me she was ready. We called our Vet, made the final plans and spent a few more hours with her, loving her and sitting with her in the back yard, which seemed to make her feel a bit at ease. I will miss her terribly, but I know she feels no more pain, and as her Mom, it was my responsibility to let her go. After she was sedated, I could feel the pain release her tiny body. I could not hold her for the final injection, but I know she wouldn't want us to remember her final breath.

I've spent the past few days going through all her photos and finding the ones that really showed her in her true form. She was my photo assistant and loved to be outside when I'd take my photos. She was a Daddy's girl and a silly clown. Goodbye my Boo...
Here are a few more photos of her and her mate,
Rex, who passed four years earlier.
They both loved the ceramic heater!
They were my healers

She was the Queen :)

Daddy's girl all the way

Her last day.....

My condolences - losing pets is heartbreaking - they are friends, they are family and you never stop missing them after they are gone - sending you a big hug from London x

sorry for your loss, reva. looks like she had a great life. it's been a difficult year for us as well...both my sisters lost their dogs this year. scary that they say things happen in threes as one of my dogs is 16 and showing signs that he may be next.

hugs,
becks

I am so sorry to learn of your loss. Many years ago I had to say good bye to my kitty, I didn't know it could feel that bad. This was a beautiful post.

I think some of our toughest moments in this life are saying good bye to beloved pets. You can see from your pictures what a faithful friend she was...I am so sorry you are grieving her loss, but glad to see you celebrate her life.

Reva, I loved looking at all the pictures and I'm so sorry you had to say goodbye to your darling Bitty Bitty. Losing a furry companion is every bit as hard as losing a family member because they are family. My condolences Reva.

Hugs to you at this difficult time, Bonnie

I'm so very sorry. We lost a very sweet kitty last year; it's so hard! But all you can do is make them feel safe and loved at the end. You definitely did that.

I'm so sorry about your kitty. Please take comfort in the fact that she lived a wonderful life and knew she was much loved.
I had to put my kitty-baby to sleep a few years ago, and I know how heartbreaking it can be. If you ever need to talk, I'm here...
