Homeward Bound

Hi everybody!
Happy green beer day! I swear I'll be a sportin' some green duds later,
but if I don't post my trip pics they get lost and blow away amidst the green shamrocks...
OK, I just can't keep it up. Here are a few photos from my trip back home to good old Kentucky, where bargains lurk at every corner. (I can't wait for yard sale season ;)
When I left, it was thick leggings and heavy knit hats and sweaters...
61/2 hours later, I'm there. Gah!
As the week went on, I dragged my poor Mom into cornfields for photos
and every thrift store we could find.
Moms are fun like that!
Then, off to the Sturgis Antique Mall, where Spring was definitely in the air...
pinks, yellows and lilac donned all the clothing booths.
Someday this will be mine... Oh,yes - it will be mine...
This little lady blew my mind, too!
There was just too friggin much to document, but boy did I try...
Plus, who wouldn't need one of these?
The temp. soon hit the 70's. So glad I brought all my heavy sweaters ;)

Meet The New Boss......

Hi guys!
Here is the new addition to our family.
He's a bit mellow, has a tiny foot fetish, nameless, (Mellow Yellow - No Way ;)
and squeaks instead of meowing.
He just showed up at my parents and I believe they choose us...
Aren't we lucky?

In Memorandum:

The king of my world, Rex

and our long distance boy, Tommy.

Trip photos and fashion tomorrow!
Til then,

If The Shoe Fit You

image:Shoe Dazzle
I've always been a neutral shoe gal but...
In a galaxy far,far away stylists are taking cues from style bloggers!
From Prada to Forever 21, this year is finally seeing shoes in a new light! I'm so happy to find so many different styles, colors and textures going on. Shoes are my new accessory....
Here are a few I've fallen for.
(but definitely don't own!)
YET (ahem, goodwill......)

Has  there ever been a time when you could buy floral flats
and tail-light shoes all in the same year?
Go stylists! You're finally "getting" it !!! (Thanks to bloggers)
No more one style fits all....
(CAN YOU TELL I'M HAVING A SHOE MOMENT?)
I feel empowered, don't you! What else can we change?

Did you Button up Today?

old mossimo flats/vintage and old buttons/thread in peach
I love old buttons.
So what's a girl  to do but put them on stuff?
The lazy girl's way:
Pick a predominate thread color and use it throughout.
Plus, they can be reused..
Maybe I'l find some at the antique mall.
My next culprit-espadrilles...
Have a terrific week!

What do you Wear?

What do you wear when shooting other photos?
(Besides your blog shots ;)

This is my usual uniform.
Comfort is key, as I have learned
from dangly earrings to clunky necklaces...
1) loose clothing
2) butt covering tights/pants
(no one wants to see your crack)
3) a shoulder bag for glasses/etc.
4) lots of pockets! (I tend to lay things down)
5) comfy shoes (most people wear boots/flats)
   (the stillettos are rough!)
6) hats that won't blow off - like berets
7) lots of hair elastics or headband
8) a sweater for late shoots
9) fingerless gloves if it's cold
10) avoid clunky necklaces!
Scratches happen so fast...
(I like to look stylish, but my bling hits the bag)

Plus wear something you don't mind getting dirty ;)
Also, a quick run/reach&grab type movement for windy days comes in handy!
A bigger camera and case helps, too!
(Now you can get functional camera bags that look like a purse)
Dress: Gap,thrifted-Tunic: Old Navy,80%off-Beret: cheapo $5.99-Vintage spy camera: Sturgis antique mall - Sunnies: Kroger-Beads: Gabriel Bros. $4.99 - Scarf:thrifted - shoes/bag ,Gabriel Bros-
earrings:vintage clip-ons, Leather cuff: Gabriel Bros.$3.99
These tips seem pretty simple, but I have endured each one at one time or another. You don't need to look frumpy to be comfy...
A sequined beret, or small clip-on earrings add style.
I also avoid long scarves as I tend to get hung up in them. Tri-pod go boom!
The mini  Crystar spy camera is a great ice-breaker :)
As you read this I am off to my Parent's for just a few day.
I prepared more posts for the week ahead.
Guess what I'm getting?
Hint:
yah!!!

Ain't Got Time For The Rain

Happy Friday!
A big shout-out to all my friends and family in the Mid-west after the unexpected tornado's that hit yesterday. My brother's work-place
(a hospital non-the-less) was torn apart. Luckily he was home!
We are expecting another round tonight. Prayers: check!
Flashlight: check, Candles: check, Radio: check, Basement: check...
Maybe a helmut???
Nah...

ATTIRE; ALL THRIFTED, EXCEPT SHOES (GABRILE BROS. $7.99) AND TIGHTS.

This is my usual indoor outfit:
Thrifted Girlie Grunge.
Here's to a safe weekend :)
