Walking a Mile in New Boots

 Hi all!
Yep, this post is all about the boots...

Well, not really. I'm finding myself wanting to tell everyone what is happening in my life right now, but it is a personal journey not yet ready to be revealed. I can say, that I have lost over 10 lbs, which I am happy about. I spent the greater part of last year trying to find plus sized clothing that either didn't look like a giant tent or cost a gazillion bucks for a single tee. Pouting though thrift shops while loading up on scarves. Meanwhile, my boobs grew into giant melons that were really heavy. I embraced the new challenge, as I think all bodies are beautiful, but the clothing choices really suck around here. Now, I am fitting back into some of my favorite clothes, and I gotta admit, I'm glad. I will post on how and why it happened some other day.....

Back to the real message:
It's so much more than that. More than body-image. Much more than size issues, but about self discovery - self love, and giving myself permission to explore more non-conventional ways of bringing my mind and thoughts into harmony. To not allow others to dictate how I feel about myself. I am learning how to bring my desires to fruition. I can say it involves meditation. It involves reprogramming the lies I allowed myself to believe. The patterns that were imprinted onto us even in the womb. I am learning what real beauty involves. It is very exciting and scary at the same time. You see, we as women have been given limitations since early childhood.

So, here at 48, I am finally discovering how to really enjoy the life I am currently living. I am pretty sure it involves giving rather than receiving...

This is a beautiful post Reva and you are glowing. In fact if I saw you in the street on a wintery day I would stop you in your tracks and say "thank you for making the world more colourful ... and when you're done with those amazing boots I'll be happy to take them off your feet". Love ya baby xoxoxoxoxo

Very nice post, Reva. I'm glad you are enjoying yourself and discovering new things every day. Life is a process and it doesn't stop when we get older...but I used to think it did!

Congrats on your 10 lb weight loss....I'm also working on this....

Love the super long necklace!

The boots are fantastic! I can't wait to hear about what else is happening-- the meditation and the 10lbs gone. I like hearing that giving is involved,
Becky :)

I haven't commented in a while, but I'm still here, Reva! You look gorgeous (and you looked gorgeous when you were heavier), and I so agree with so much of what you've said. Hugs, Sheila

I'm delighted you're feeling so positive and happy in life. You look astounding and if I didn't know you and saw you on the street then I'd come over and tell you, like I do to any women who turns my head.

Reva, you look amazing. That scarf caught my eye right away - love! You'd be very at style in those boots here in Annecy. It's all about the short boot here, and studs galore. :) xoxo

You're 48?!!? You look amazing. And I understand about weight. Yes, I'm still beautiful with 10 extra pounds. But I love the feeling of being light and free...and my knees don't creak. Hang in there, honey, the best is yet to come!
