BLOG FIX SATURDAY

BOO !
THIS "TURBI-TOWEL" IS AWESOME ;)
It is small, has an elastic 'hook' at the nape to tuck the towel in, and looks so glamorous ;)
( You probably don't see these glasses often either as I don't really like them. Too "trendy-ish"-
I usually wear my old black ones.  TIP: ALWAYS get the glare-free coating ..... )

BEFORE I FORGET :
THANKS TO  EVERYONE FOR YOUR UP-LIFTING COMMENTS AND SUPPORT LATELY !!! I AM SO HONORED TO HAVE SUCH A BUNCH OF GREAT NEW BLOG BUDDIES :) AS WELL AS MY REGULAR BLOG BUDDIES. ALL OF YOUR SUPPORT IS OVERWHELMING AND APPRECIATED .
I LOVE YOU GUYS :) - EVER NOTICE DRUNK PEOPLE ALWAYS SAY THAT? (No, I'm sober)
DOESN'T THE NEIGHBORHOOD LOOK COZY TODAY ? I HAD WHAT SEEMED TO BE A WEEK OF RUNNING AROUND NON-STOP. THEN, TODAY WE WERE GRANTED A COZY BLANKET OF STILLNESS.
THOUGH I DON'T LIKE DRIVING IN IT, NOR BEING COLD ( The temp. is in the 20's- the average temp. is mid-forties ),  I DO LOVE THE MUFFLED EFFECT OF SNOW. IT IS AS THOUGH YOU COULD HEAR A PIN DROP OUT THERE AND THE NOISE FROM ALL THE NEARBY HIGHWAYS DISAPPEARS.
I SUDDENLY SEE THE WORLD THROUGH NEW, CALMER EYES.
THE SNOW REMINDS ME TO BE STILL. REMAIN IN THE MOMENT AND TAKE A VACATION FROM THE USUAL . TO EXPERIENCE THE EXTRAORDINARY. TO SNUGGLE :) ~ TODAY IS A REMINDER OF HOW IMPORTANT THE BELOVED "SNOW DAYS" OF MY CHILDHOOD WERE. I HAVE MORE FOND MEMORIES OF THESE KIND OF DAYS THAN ANY OTHER. I MAY MAKE SOME SNOW-CREAM ;)
AND TODAY, I WILL FORGET THE OLD 'WIVES TALE' THAT THE FIRST SNOW ISN'T SAFE FOR EATING ;)
THROUGH SNOW, SLEET OR HAIL THE MAIL-MAN STILL MANAGED TO PLOP A PACKAGE AT MY DOOR :) A FULL, LONG TROPICAL PRINT SKIRT FROM NEWPORT NEWS.
 (their warehouse sale is awesome!)
The price was 70% off. It is a thin cotton, but I see me popping it on soon ;)
I normally don't order stuff, but their clothing has yet to disappoint. Their sizes are pretty true.
Plus, the always send a trial size of something. The last one was deodorant.
I wonder if they are trying to tell me something? ......

SPEAKING OF GREAT DEALS !!!
I SNAGGED THE THRIFT OF ALL THRIFTIES YESTERDAY :)
LEATHER PANTS!!!
They are currently in the garage, getting frozen.
( Bed-Bug Phobia ;)
AND WHAT A DEAL !!! Brand new, Banana Republics. You will see these babies a lot this year!
They aren't hemmed, however. I need your help. How do I hem leather ?
Should I seek professional help ? ( For the pants ;)
All my thrifties are in the garage getting frozen. I finally got my goodies out from my thrift date with Kasmira. You'll see them soon, too :)
I MADE OUR CHRISTMAS CARD TODAY , TOO.
( It's a photo of our back-yard )
WELL, I'VE FIRMED, EXFOLIATED, ( inside and out ;), GOTTEN ALL COZY AND HAD MY BLOG FIX. NOW IT'S TIME TO DO MY ROOTS......
HOPE YOUR WEEKEND IS GOING GREAT !
xXx

I'm glad things are calming down for you - hope it stays that way. I love your photos! It doesn't snow where I live, so this seems so amazing to me. I'm glad you're able to enjoy it. It's funny that you can put the clothes in the garage to freeze out any bedbugs. That's an added benefit to winter!

The skirt is beautiful and the pants...what a steal! I've been thinking about a leather skirt, but I am content to let you go first.

We've yet to have any snow. It looks lovely THERE. What is that stuff on your face?

I know we always want what we don't have...but I cannot tell you how jealous I am of your snow pictures. I do not even know the last time I saw snow! Cherish it...though it might get old sometimes. I love the skirt, but most of all your cute heart on your face!

R.--I would have sent this in an e-mail, but couldn't find the address. This is a copy of my comment on a comment you left for me. :)

Reva--I definitely study the nature of the blogosphere, but am such a newby that I'm not sure always of what I'm seeing. You've been at this longer, but I think I am seeing that there's a natural and seasonal rhythm to things. I also think that we older bloggers often feel a greater sense of responsibility to our readers. Either that or there is some ageism at work. Very few of the MANY younger bloggers I visit ever comment here. Your comment makes me ponder...am I people-pleasing? For the first time in many years, the simple fact of blogging at all has made me feel that I CAN put some of my interests at the forefront. But you're right...that I may have only displaced my need to be reassuring to others.

The snow looks beautiful.
You are a brave woman to venture into leather pants territory.
Ever since that episode of Friends where Ross couldn't get his leather pants off I have been afraid of them. :)

How beautiful is snow. I don't think I could handle the cold, but your 'hood looks so beautiful. And I know what you mean about the sound. Snow puts your at the still-point of the universe, where everything waits for you. Breathe and catch up.

LOVE your finds: the riotous floral skirt and leather pants. Oh yeah, I see you rockin' the two rain or shine.

I've been lurking around your blog for a while and I love your style!
Did you end up getting any advice on the leather pants hemming issue? I own a fair bit of leather and suede and I've noticed nothing in the skirt/pants area ever seems to be hemmed. And if they're the right length, that looks just fine. So my thought on this is that if the pants are too long, and you have a steady hand, you could take a pair of sharp scissors and cut them to your preferred length. If this makes you nervous, I think that's all a professional tailor would do to them, and surely a 5-minute job like that wouldn't cost you an arm and a leg?? Good luck, whatever you decide to do. Those pants were a STEAL!
