Vintage Elephant Ears

Why would anyone give these away ? At least that's what I thought when I scooped em up at 1.99 pants day at Goodwill. I am Always drawn to long, flowy florals, Especially pallazo pants. They're pleated, too! In the 70's we called them Elephant Ears. These are 80's era. It's like wearing a long skirt with squatting capacity! I paired them with a pin stripe vest from Dot's clx. (3.00) and a wide band tank from Old Navy (1.00) so there would be a "seamless" look to the vest. I have to wear a bra, so this gives the illusion of a shirt-less vest, since the vest is a halter style. I would normally just go for a black tank, but my vision is changing since blogging. I love you guys!!! My silk MJ flats and my "Mirror-Mirror" necklace, ( Fennofashion) and drop pearls with a little black bead finished it off. I am working really hard trying new photo techniques and lighting, so bear with me in the overload. I try to pop the best ones in first, so u can keep on truckin'! I was having an exceptionally good "loose bun" day as well. Don't ya just love a good hair day? In summer, My hair flattens out like a pancake, and I sweat like a horse, so long hair is great for summer bunnage. I have also found that aging skin looks better with less "pancake" make-up, which slides right off in the summer anyway. I like shimmer moisturizers, or tinted ones as they give the effect of a "beachy" glow. The harder I try to hide things, the more apparent they become!
This is my go-to spot in bright light and the wind was really showing off the pants!
The vest needs to be taken in, and since I'm heading to my Mom's I'll let her do the deed!
WW#40 Update:
"The Little Engine that Will !!!"
No luck. I've bombarded the site, with tons of E-mails and photos. I got an E-mail back! It was the "Ad" for the featured blogger for June ( I really only want a photo, not an entire month! The pressure!) Anyhoo, it stated that basically ( you can read it on the site ) they look for "magazine editorial worthy photography" and "equally worthy outfits"........"She up-loaded her work with such gusto".... They are awesome and Very professional looking... So, I'm working on making my photos as hip as I can. I've got the gusto..... It will happen!.........................

Cat Skirt

As someone who has the attention span of a gnat, plus "mania", which I simply refer to as a good day, I bought this material with high hopes of making a quilt. The material eventually got buried, but when I saw the kitty dress floating around the fashion blogs, I decided to dig up my prints and make a skirt! It's a bit gitchy, but was fun and easy to make, and fun to wear. I am definitely and officially the neighborhood cat lady.
Plus Zebra print flops to match!
This stuff is awesome !!! I used it for the hem, and it really works.
The bird earrings seemed to fit the theme. Poor Kitties !
I decided to add a brown belt to break up the black.
It's so good to not be sick anymore - Thanks everybody :) I'm gearing up for a trip to see my parents later this week, so I will actually be getting dressed again. Yipee!
Top: Danskins, Earrings: Target, Flippies: Walgreen's, Hat: Target.

It Looks better in Person......

I had a ton of ideas for the title to this entry from, It's Alive! to Bomb Pop to Kismet. All of which were appropriate. I finally made my way from the couch to the closet. No more cows in my future ! Being sick stinks! A simple thrifted seersucker dress and a floppy hat are my uniform of the day. Thunderstorms led to a perfect cool, low humidity day of which I will spend de-cluttering and whacking my way out the door to finally crop the weeds and ivy. I bet the neighbor's think we've deserted the place by now! I tried to dress this dress up a bit with my red espadrilles, but I do think it will be a house only frock. Maybe a gown. Not sure.Well, at least I'm off the sofa! On with my flip-flops! I will put on an actual outfit tomorrow. Oh and............

As I opened all the windows, I heard the familiar jingle of an ice-cream truck! I ran out the door like a crazed 5 year old, and bought a 70's cold war favorite, the Bomb Pop! Yep, a red, white and blue missle shaped sugar high! I tried to take a photo of me eating it (anything for a good shot!) but who are we kidding? The damn thing was broken and started dripping immediately. Plus, This dress is looking more and more yucky as I type. Better hit send before I ...............
Shoes: F21, Dress: thrifted, Hat: K-mart

Program Alice: Activated !!! / Guilty Pleasure Movies

Nothing like a Bad Ass chick in a trench coat with knives and garters !!!

I know, this is the fantasy image of every 14 yr.old boy on the planet, but I like it. I am still alive, but still sick, so a movie-fest is in full swing. I am a Nintendo gamer from way back. Yep. Me. Resident Evil is a series of games that would keep you on the edge of your sofa for hours on end, screaming "Watch Out!!! Birds!!!" and so on. The movies are really bad, but Milla Jovoich as Alice, can kick some @ss ! Packing machine guns and slinging blades to kill the zombies before they bite and turn you into walking cannibals. A super-chick. And wearing a trench, layers and boots with leggings and garters. What's not to like? Well, bad acting, but who cares when u get to see a tiny girl busting it up! Not a Zen movie, nor an Oscar winning indie, but I think I'll be Alice on Halloween. And she's not killing people, they are zombies who want to eat you!!! A thunderstorm is approaching, so I will get back to The Chronicles Of Riddick, a Vin Diesel kick-@ss-a-thon on planet Creamatoria with necromancers !!! See ya soon...............
I love this outfit !!!

( Drag trench behind a fast moving truck on a gravel road first.)
( Statement necklace : a row of ammo.)
( Signature Piece. Get it ? ;)
Grrrr !!!.......................
This ain't no SJP movie, Grrr..............
( Though I will be renting Sex in the City 3 when it arrives. Gotta see the outfits!)
At the premier in Tokyo. What a dress! Her statement necklace sure isn't ammo! I wish she'd wore chunkier, darker shoes. Almost too pretty, ya think? Sort of Bridesmaidesque. (Disclaimer: Love her!!!) Wonder what she has in the clutch? Smokes and gum and a lipstick. Bet Ya!
