Feathers, Turbans and Knots Oh My !

This year definitely seems to be the year of the maxi dress, skirt and ultra long, wide leg pants. Since I have always had a closet full of long skirts, i am really enjoying trying new, fun ways to wear them.
One of my favorites and easiest ways to freshen up an old gypsy skirt is to knot it. Even double knots are fun. I am in the process of chopping some bohemian cotton ones to be short in the front and long in the back, thus making fun shoes or boots seen and not just heard :)
I still need to learn to measure twice, cut once ;)

And don't get me started on the turbans and scarves and feathers...

I kinda felt a baggy / indie vibe today. I had to run an errand and have wanted to pop off some shots here for a while. The Cincinnati Hospital campus is filled with cool old buildings nestled amongst new and cool architecture. As I have been clearing out the "clobber" from my closets, I so needed a break! I found some wide legged khaki pants and loaded on accessories like the "cool rocker Olsen twin" ;) 

As I am doing this cleaning out project, I am finding everything from girlie-girl, retro 70's, vintage florals to high-end designer (thrifted, of course) office wear ! This exercise has been illuminating  as far as I think I know what "style" I prefer most of the time. Basics with accessories and long, flowy eclectic vibes. I kinda knew it all along :)

Just pile it on ;) The chain belt was my Mom's from the early 70's.

I took the ends of cut T's and made some headband / turbin thingys. 

My pants are about 3 sizes too big, thus the baggy effect :)

This is the Center for Behavioral Health studies ;) Hmmm..........

We are expecting some Fall weather this weekend :) Yipee !

Tomorrow, I may get to break out my rain boots finally :)
