Kentucky Girl

Playing in the fresh Kentucky dirt!

Hi everybody!
It's a girl! Her name is Sadie. I brought her home with me this trip around. She has no claws (Grrr...) so she needed a home where she could be safe - plus Cache is enamoured with her. Bonus...

On to the real scoop of litter:
The trip was a tough one. My Dad is much better, but my Mom decompensated during the trip and is now in a facility to help her regain her balance and improve her dementia - if there is such a thing. The last trip was full of love and gratitude. This time fear and sorrow seemed to grab a hold. Being a grown-up is tough sometimes. I actually arrived home late last week, but needed a recovery period. Thanks for all your well wishes. You guys really do rock.

While there, I did take time to remove myself from the situation for moments and I thank God for my notebook. I have so many new ideas for the blog, outfit ideas, upcoming interviews, how-to's and possibly a series on Spiritual Style. What do you think - too deep? Nah....
Being a 'mid-life' (for a better word) woman, has new challenges, other than what lipstick might match my unwashed hair some days. Though important - Just sayin...

This house resides across the street from my Parent's house. I know, But - I see potential.
Finish the roof in contrasting colors, ditch the tombstone leaning against the porch
(or use it as a step-up), lose the flag, plant some posies.... Wa-la! Cool ass hippie house.
OOh, and a stained glass window in front to match the roof. There ya go!

I did get into some natural inspiration while there as well.
 The moon was awesome!!!
I needed my tri-pod!
Then it got a little freaky....
Lunarflys!
I couldn't stop...

It's good to be home :)
Missed you all!

From Pit Bulls to Posies

Hi everybody!!!
Wow, a few days turned into over a week! I so needed to reconnect with mama nature, so what did we do first? A flea market, of course! (Why am I yelling?)
I really don't know, other than I missed you all. I had a great time (which I'll try to keep the photos as minimal as I can). I scored a suede leather fringe jacket here and my muse, my precious Mom-in-Law (Hi Mom!) found a denim and fur jacket.
My sunglasses collection grew and I fell hard for a couple puppies. I swear they sell everything! I totally refused to go into the faux bag area however.
I was actually up bright and early...
Thanks to my muse!
Here a some shots of the infamous Flea Land in the heart of the Kentucky mountains. I'll show you true beauty tomorrow and be back to fashion posts next week. Promise!
Told Ya!
He is so beautiful
I kissed and kissed the tiny one on the right. I wanted him...
What a kick-ass truck!
He wasn't for sale.
Possibly the most fashionable bird house ever!
Someone had collected all these vintage pop tops. Too cool...
These caught me as especially funny at the time. Ya never know what you'll find.
I suppose someone kept trying to buy the boat?
There were so many caged animals for sale, but they seemed so sad.
Inside: The giant wall-o-quilts
Kentuckians are crazy for their college basketball. I mean fighting crazy!
As many coal miner's are in KY, including my Dad and brother's, this meant a lot to me. Coal mining is one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. It is a family tradition here especially in the East and Western communities.
I spied a fashionista!
Tired yet?
Me Too!
For now...
xXx
