A Taste of Vintage, A Drop of Trend - Mix Well, Enjoy!

Hi Everybody !

I'm kinda glad it is a bit cold still. I have a few great jackets and other things I've yet to wear this year! This riding jacket I bought late last spring. It's from a vintage shop here in Cincy called Rose's Tea Room. It is from the late 70's and in pristine condition. Mixing the old with new is fun and adds character to any outfit. Then, popping a vintage tie in the mix was a nice alternative to a necklace.

New shooties, peggings and layered tees are the 'new'.

An old vintage clip earring in my hair replaces the big earrings!

I am so happy to hear from you and I'm still catching up, so I'll be visiting you all really soon! If I'm not very commenty this week, please forgive me. I am also redecorating my living room, painting my ceiling and da-da-da-dum.......

I'm getting a new sofa !!! Yipee !!!

Summer Berets, Tribal Skirts and Big Thank You's !!!

I am usually more fond of Silver accessories, but sometimes I need a little gold. Gold seems to enhance a summer glow. This tribal, floral? print skirt is one of my favorites. My hubs bought it for my Birthday last year. He has such good taste ;) I am also LOVING these summer berets from F21. I got 3, and now they are super cheap, like $1.99 - up! There is a lot going on here, but it seems to work and is a statement of my true style. A bit boho, trendy, and the shades are vintage Banana Boats from the 80's. I still can't grasp the notion that 80's apparel is considered vintage ! The glads: Target, Necklaces: Sears, Yellow shirt: Old Navy, Earrings: @bstract - Target ( another favorite ), Belt: Calvin Klein,thrifted, Bag: Aigner, thrifted. The long pendant opens to hide stuff in ;) - but it would have to be really small !

The beret ! I like to wear a side-braid with them. TIP : If you don't have long hair, You can buy a faux pony-tail  and clip it on, underneath your hair, braid, and Wa-La ! No one will know the difference ;)

 PLUS, A long sleeved cotton shirt is actually very cool in the Summer. Much cooler than sunscreen :)

ALSO, I have firmly decided that I like "fill-flash". It seems to accentuate otherwise dark photos.

Nothing beats late afternoon natural lighting, but hey, how often is that really possible ? So sue me, WW !!!

Yard Sale Hippie

A hot afternoon driving around yard sales with my Mom.

Some of my goodies:

My outfit: Merona wide-leg linen pants, Bag: Old Navy, Summer Beret: F21, Scarf as belt, Target, Earrings: F21, White tank over black spaghetti strap tank. Necklace: World Mkt.

My Dad may be the silliest character I know! We bought him this old hat as a joke, and my Mom says he's been wearing it ever since. I Love Him !!!
