MAMA'S ALL RIGHT .....

DADDY'S ALL RIGHT..... THEY JUST SEEM A LITTLE WEIRD ....... SURRENDER,  SURRENDER, BUT DON'T GIVE YOURSELF AWA-AAA-Y .............
(CHEAP TRICK)

WELL I'M BACK, AND I MUST SAY THE PAST TWO WEEKS WERE EXASPERATING.
I FELT HELPLESS, BUT MOST OF ALL, I WAS FEARFUL AND ANXIOUS.  BEING THE 'BABY' OF A FAMILY AND BEING COUNTED ON TO FILL SOME PRETTY BIG SHOES WAS NEW TERRITORY.
I DO FEEL LIKE I SHOULD HAVE A GIRL-SCOUT BADGE FOR NURSING 101....
I CAN NOW TAKE YOUR VITALS, ADMINISTER MEDS., DO A GLUCOSE TEST AND GIVE SHOTS - ALL IN UNDER 5 MINUTES ;)

I'M ACTUALLY WEARING THE SAME DRESS I WORE HOME YESTERDAY, AND SLEPT IN LAST NIGHT !
I WAS AND AM STILL EXHAUSTED AND A BIT IN SHOCK.
A HUGE THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR WELL WISHES.
THEY MEANT SO MUCH TO ME. YOU GUYS ALL ROCK!

MY MOM IS DOING WELL, ( SEVERAL MINI-STROKES ), THOUGH SHE HAS POST DEMENTIA, WHICH ONLY TIME WILL TELL HOW MUCH DAMAGE THERE IS.

IT'S STRANGE HOW I BEGAN TO TAKE INVENTORY OF WHAT IS REALLY IMPORTANT & HAVE VOWED TO NOT WASTE TIME BITCHING ABOUT STUFF THAT JUST DOESN'T REALLY MATTER. THERE'S JUST NOT ENOUGH TIME IN THIS LIFE FOR ALL THAT ROT !!!
JUST LISTENING TO SUCH NONSENSE ( I'M TALKING EXAGGERATED PROBLEMS, NOT REAL ONES ) TAKE UP WAY TOO MUCH OF MY PRECIOUS TIME, (OF WHICH I CAN NEVER GET BACK ;)

WHEN I NEEDED A BREAK, I WENT TO THE STURGIS, KY ANTIQUE MALL. IT WAS A LIFE SAVER AND THE THRIFTY GODS TOOK GREAT CARE OF ME.
I DID AN INTERVIEW WITH THE OWNER/ AND VINTAGE LOVER , BUT ACCIDENTALLY DELETED THE ENTIRE TRIP PHOTOS..... PAR FOR THE COURSE - THOUGH NORMALLY I WOULD HAVE PANICKED AT ALL THE TIME I HAD SPENT AND REMEMBERING ALL THE LOST IMAGES, BUT I COULDN'T EVEN GET MIFFED ABOUT IT. WAY MORE IMPORTANT STUFF ;)

I GOT THE SCORE OF A LIFE TIME WHILE THERE ONE AFTERNOON! AND FOR ONLY  $ 1.98 CENTS...........

STEAMPUNK FANS ALL OVER THE GLOBE WOULD HAVE BEEN CRAPPING THEMSELVES WHEN THEY SAW THESE!
BAUSCH & LOMB FUL-VUE 25'S.
OF COURSE, I RESEARCHED THEM LAST NIGHT, FOUND 1 PAIR (SOLD/NO PRICE) BUT A SIMILAR PAIR (23'S) WERE SELLING FOR $ 285.00 !!!
SCORE, SCORE, SCORE!

A GREAT REASON TO WEAR GREEN-COLORED GLASSES :)
( from my previous posts .....)
BALANCE, LOVE, SELF CONTROL
GREEN is the colour of balance, harmony, nature, neutrality and of non-resistance. Green corresponds to the heart center on the physical plane and heals many illnesses of this nature.
Helps relax muscles, nerves, and thoughts. Cleanses and balances our energy, to give a feeling of renewal, peace and harmony. Green connects us to unconditional love and is used for balancing our whole being.
In a more practical sense, green affects blood pressure and all conditions of the heart. It has both an energizing effect and a moderating or soothing effect.

I ALSO GOT 4 VINTAGE HATS ( I NEEDED A LOT OF BREAKS ;),
( AND IF YOUR A BOB DYLAN FAN, YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT KIND ONE IS :) - A PAIR OF SPATS ,
( in lt. beige for summer, they are vintage boy scout spats ), 3 VINTAGE KEYS, A HUGE VINTAGE LOCK, A PAIR OF "GRAPE" CLIP EARRINGS, A GREAT CAMEO, A FUNKY BOHO PENDANT, A 50'S MINI CAMERA ( kinda like a spy camera, Bond, James Bond, to make into a pendant ).

THE ONLY CHARITY SHOP IN TOWN SAW ME QUITE A FEW TIMES AS WELL. THEIR STUFF IS SOOOO CHEAP ( 50 cent pants, tops, $1.00 jackets/shoes, $3.00 large coats- I passed on a mustard JCrew winter pea coat, but I am still not the big coat fan..... though it was only 3 bucks....

SEE THE LITTLE BL ON THE LENS? WHO KNEW ?
can ya tell I really dig these shades ;)

PRIORITIZING IS TOUGH FOR ME, BUT THIS EXPERIENCE HAS OPENED MY EYES TO TAKING A PERSONAL INVENTORY....... TO DUMPING SOME 'CRAP' AND REGAINING SOME GRACE ;)
PRIORITY ONE : STOP SWEATING THE SMALL STUFF ;)
MAYBE I'LL START MEDITATING......

Youth fades; love droops; the leaves of friendship fall; A mother's secret hope outlives them all.  ~Oliver Wendell Holmes
IT'S NICE TO BE HOME :)

ATTIRE: DRESS: TARGET, CLX. LAST YEAR
                   VEST: RUE 21  ( last year, $1.00)
TEE: BIG LOTS ~ SCARVES: OLD

I'm so glad to see you back, Reva. I was a bit concerned. The new attitude seems so wonderfully peaceful I am inspired to try it myself.

i love your post title - such a relief to get the important info up front! my grandpa had dementia from those mini strokes, but it took a long time before they figured it out. i hope they are able to prevent any more strokes for your mom. how strange it is when all of a sudden we're in the role of 'the grown up'!

hee hee, obviously 'someone' wants you to have some fun, leading you to those awesome specs! they look really wonderful on you, and i'm very glad you took that detail shot - wild! i took my 'raw' pic yesterday, i'll send it to you now! (maybe leave your shades on, ha!) take care, steph

Welcome back, Reva! Sending you good vibes for serenity, calmness and peace for your Mum and family. Funny how something like that can really slap you upside the head and sort out the real priorities.

Glad you had some fun and awesome thrifting to take your mind off it. Take care of yourself, hon.

It is good to have you back. You've been missed!

I am soooo distracted by your thrifty finds...like those bitchin' glasses. When I get my act together I am heading to your neck of the woods on a buying trip. I designate YOU to be my tour guide, lol.

It's funny how illness and such can really help shape up our priorities. LIFE is PRECIOUS! And too short to waste on petty peeves.

Mad love to you Reva. Welcome BACK!

The earrings are so wonderful as well and I am proud of you for handling all this so well. I do understand how being a caretaker can be fulfulling but draining also and you came out of with with such style! And again, we are glad to have you back.
