Feeling SAD ? Try Changing Your Clothes .....

"Everything in life is vibration"Albert Einstein

HAPPY MONDAY EVERYBODY !!!
FIRST, I FEEL THE NEED TO APOLOGIZE FOR BEING SO BLAH LAST WEEK ....
MANY BLOGGER'S BLAME IT ON P.M.S., BUT SINCE I NO LONGER HAVE MY 'JUNK',
I REALLY CAN'T BLAME THE YUCKS ON THAT (though i do still have hormones, so maybe?) ...

I WASN'T EVEN GOING TO POST THIS, ( AS THIS IS A FASHION BLOG )
BUT I ALWAYS FEEL THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING HONEST AND REAL.
( I also know that no-one digs hearing about one's uninspired times or "Debby Downer" moments )
SO IF IT'S MY OUTFIT YOU WANT TO SEE, HERE IT IS.
( However, if it's the thought behind the outfit you are interested in, PLUS A SOLUTION read on ;)

SO I BLAMED THE 'ICK' FACTOR ON THE WEATHER ..... AND SURE ENOUGH THERE IS SOMETHING VALID TO REPORT ! THERE IS A REAL, MEDICALLY TESTED CONDITION KNOWN AS S.A.D. (SEASONAL AFFECTIVE DISORDER ) WHICH I'M SURE YOU ALL KNOW ABOUT. IT OCCURS DURING THE DARK, WINTER MONTHS ( AKA, NOW ....) AND ESPECIALLY THIS YEAR
THE MID-WESTERN US HAS BEEN HIT WITH ONE OF THE COLDEST ,
SNOWIEST SEASONS IN A LONG WHILE. ( THUS THE INCREASED BLAH-I-TUDE ;)
( It can actually occur in the mid-summer months as well, but I'll tackle one thing at a time ;)
HAVE YOU BEEN FEELING IT , TOO ?

NOT TO FEAR, MY DEAR BLOG BUDDIES !!!
( I Try very hard to make this a bitch-free zone-
After all, there are only so many 'chin-ups' one can muster ;)
SO ON TO THE GOOD STUFF !!!

THE FIX MAY BE AS SIMPLE AS CHANGING YOUR CLOTHES ;)
AND SINCE MOST OF US CAN'T TAKE OFF FOR FLORIDA ANY TIME SOON,
THIS MAY BE JUST THE TRICK !

COLOR THERAPY IS AS OLD AS TIME ITSELF AND BY WEARING CERTAIN COLORS, WE CAN ACTUALLY 'CREATE' A MENTAL AND PHYSICAL RESPONSE TO THEM!

SO THIS WEEK, I AM GOING TO PRACTICE COLOR THERAPY, STARTING WITH :

RED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Red is called "The Great Energizer" and "The Father of Vitality." Red is warm, vital, heating. It loosens, opens up clogs, releases stiffness and constrictions. It is excellent for areas that have become stiffened or constricted. ( Such as sofa-ass ...)

RED is the first visible colour we see after the infra-red band is passed. Red is thermal, heating, warming, yang and positive. It has many tendencies including the promotion of cellular growth and activity, stimulating the Will aspect, corresponding to our life force, or the circulatory system. It is therefore indicated for all colds, sluggish or dormant conditions, such as pneumonia, bursitis, paralysis, arthritis, anaemia, as a liver stimulant, an energy builder, for raising the blood pressure and increasing circulation.
Red links with and stimulates the root chakra, at the base of the spine, causing the adrenal glands to release adrenalin. This results in greater strength.

THE SKINNY:
In colour there is life. To understand this power, is living.
Colour could very well be the most magnificent experience we take for granted. Look around, it's everywhere, surrounding and embracing us. We interpret life as much through colour as we do shape, texture and sound.
The truth is, the power of colour is the very essence of life.

Our most important energy source is light, and the entire spectrum of colours is derived from light. Sunlight, which contains all the wavelengths, consists of the entire electromagnetic spectrum that we depend on to exist on this planet.
Light flows through our eyes and triggers hormone production, which influences our entire complex biochemical system. This biochemical system then affects our being. And light does not travel alone.

We know that each colour found in the visible light spectrum has its own wavelength and its own frequency, which produces a specific energy and has a nutritive effect. We know some rays can be dangerous if we are exposed to them. But the visible light, the rainbow, has a soothing effect on us.
Light is the only energy we can see, and we see it in the form of colour.

Our body absorbs colour energy through the vibration colour gives off. All organs, body systems, and functions are connected to main energy centres.
Through colour we receive all the energies we need to maintain a health body, mind, and soul. The National Institute of Mental Health has done studies showing that our mental health, behaviour, and general efficiency in life depends to a great extent on normal colour balance. When something goes wrong, or is out of balance, we can strengthen our energy centres through the conscious use of colour.

Light consists of the seven colour energies: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet. Each colour is connected to various areas of our body and will affect us differently emotionally, physically, and mentally. By learning how each colour influences us, we can effectively use colour to give us an extra boost of energy when we need it.

If you wake up in the morning with little energy, this is where the power of colours can help. All you have to do is reflect on the type of day you have planned; choose the colour that will help you meet the demands of the day; and then absorb that particular colour. It's like fuelling your system with the right kind of gas!
( or you can buy a very expensive bulb system that is supposed to simulate natural light ,
but I am way too thrifty (cheap) to invest , so I'm gonna try this instead ;)

disclaimer: I am in no way a doctor, this is just an opinion ;)

I'LL BE GOING THROUGH THE OTHER COLORS THIS WEEK AS WELL ;)
KISSES ALSO MAKE ME FEEL STRONGER ;)
WOW... FEELING PRETTY INSPIRED ALREADY !
HERE'S TO A GREAT WEEK !!!
xXx

My mother suffers from S.a.d. I'm definitely going to tell her to try wearing more color, and see it helps at all. Even if it helps a little, it's better than nothing. I love the effect that color has on us. The pictures at the end of your post were so cute. Kisses are very good for strength.

I think your outfit is great! And I think there is something to color therapy. Have you noticed that at some times in life you're drawn to certain colors? I used to like wearing red, green, and grey, and now I prefer blue, black, and purple. I'd love to know the reason for that.

Awww, loving that picture of you and Rod smooching! I've just got into red but adore a colourful wardrobe. There's far too much black, grey and beige around. xxx

You put a really good post together for somebody feeling yuck, hehehehe.
It is part of being human to be up, but always allowing ourselves to be down sometimes as well.
When tend to be worried or surprised when that happens...
All I say is keep on kissing and flow with whatever the day brings.
Besos siempre.

Everyone goes through the winter weather blues so don't apologize. I think it's wonderful that you still got up and put an outfit together some people can't even do that, I'm one of them. There are many days when I just want venture outside with only my blanket. I keep my outfits colorful because it makes me happy and hopefully it does the same for others as well. Red is my favorite color and I think that it's the most cheerful . Thanks for stopping by and saying hi. I hope that we have more convos in the future.

What a wonderful post! I really, really like the color combination in this outfit (and plan to add one pic to my inspiration file). So, it looks like wearing red WORKS judging by that smooch you got! Makes me wonder what the indigo I've been wearing might be doing to me.

You know, red is my favorite color!! And, to me, there's nothing better than red shoes. You can't wear red shoes and not be happy!!

I WANT this outfit. What great blends with the colors and it is such a happy outfit. And you are allowed to whine every now and then because you are real and I like that about you. One of my dear friends suffers from SAD and It is so hard to watch her deal with it. You are in my prayers and best wishes. It is sunny here and you are always welcome at my house!!!

Oh, duh, there's RED! :) Can you tell I was not online for a couple of days? My bad.

I love this outfit SO much. I totally get how colours can affect us. I wear my power colours when I'm feeling down, and I wear other colours when I need a boost in my self-confidence.
